Transfer Admissions

Searching for a dynamic university filled with opportunities? Your search is over! At West Chester University, you will become a member of a diverse community, engage in small classes led by faculty members, immerse yourself in hands-on research and internship opportunities, build lifelong friendships, and achieve greatness inside and outside the classroom.

Transfer admittance is open to any student who has attended a post-secondary institution after high school or enrolled with WCU on a non-degree basis. If you attended WCU as a degree student for at least one semester but did not register for classes for three or more consecutive semesters, apply as a readmit applicant.

Transfer Pathways

West Chester University has dual admission agreement with Delaware County Community College that guarantees admission to students who earn an associate degree from DCCC with a minimum 2.0 GPA. There are many benefits to this agreement including an application fee refund, guaranteed junior year status upon transfer to WCU, housing options, and financial aid eligibility at WCU. To find out more about this excellent opportunity, please click on the buttons below.

Admissions Process

The Office of Admissions at West Chester University completes a preliminary evaluation of all transfer applications on a rolling basis once all information has been received and processed. The committee prioritizes applicants with the strongest academic credentials and notifies them of a decision upon completion. Other candidates may be required to submit additional information or will be referred to the committee for a second review.

It is recommended that transfer applicants for the fall semester should complete the application process early in the preceding spring semester and that spring semester applications should be completed early in the preceding fall semester; however, certain academic programs can close earlier. If enrollment limits are met before this time, admissions will be closed.
