The Grant MacEwan University Faculty Association (GMUFA) supports faculty members by negotiating the terms and conditions of employment and ensuring the collective agreement is implemented properly. The MacEwan Staff Association (MSA) advocates for its members and enhances their work environment. They promote a workplace that is free from discrimination and offer a variety of services and benefits.

Out-of-scope employees

MacEwan’s out-of-scope (OOS) employees are those who, due to the nature of their work, are excluded from membership in a union in accordance with the Public Service Employee Relations Act.

Employees’ Code of Conduct

MacEwan’s Employees’ Code of Conduct describes the culture and values of MacEwan University employees, setting the guidelines for our vision of excellence. Developed by our faculty and staff, the Code outlines the ethical standards that we believe will foster and sustain an environment of trust, collegiality and openness. The Employees’ Code of Conduct applies to all employees, including independent contractors.

Treaty Six Territory

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home.
